The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law

Knowledge Center

Keeping up with the latest news, information, research and experiences impacting the Not-For-Profit Law world is a daunting task for any organization.  This is especially true for smaller, local CSOs with limited resources and access to trends and information.  In order to facilitate knowledge-sharing as well as to provide support for all organizations interested in this dynamic field, ICNL has developed its centralized Knowledge Center.

The ICNL Knowledge Center contains a wealth of data that provides support to not-for-profit law initiatives, including:

Online Library

ICNL's Online Library is a searchable directory of key research including Country Laws, General Legal Documents, White Papers, Reports, Legal Opinions, IJNL and more. The online library includes over 2,900 resources from more than 170 countries. Resources can be found in 41 different languages.

NGO Law Monitor

The NGO Law Monitor seeks to provide up-to-date information on legal issues affecting not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) around the world. A network of individuals and organizations will work with ICNL to monitor legal developments affecting civil society in 30 countries as well as the activities of 8 multilateral institutions. The first phase of the project has been completed, with an in-depth analysis of 10 countries and 3 regional multilateral organizations.

International Journal of Not-for-Profit Law

The International Journal for Not-for-Profit Law (IJNL) provides its readers with new and significant commentary on the latest issues facing civil society. The journal is attentive to topics of interest to the developing world while appealing to a broad audience including lawyers, scholars, donors, and government officials.

IJNL is available without charge by e-mail. Click here to subscribe. The current issue and all back issues are also available on ICNL's website.

We invite readers' contributions. To submit an article or to recommend particular topics or writers, please contact the editor, Stephen Bates, at sbates@icnl.org.
